Considering issues such as the type of construction i.e. timber, metal or upholstered, whether it be using our stock fabrics or your own fabric. Consider the size of headboard, not just the width, but also the height. What would look right to compliment the layout of the room?
If you want to match the new headboard to existing items in the room, such as other furniture, door or light fittings, or other upholstery, we would suggest that this is almost impossible to achieve. Usually a contrast works better than anything.
If you don't want the headboard to appear as a solid block against the wall, then a metal or slatted wooden headboard may create a feeling of space as the wall at the head of the bed is visible.
